This modest little book is the prayer equivalent of a nuclear generator used to power the USS Enterprise! There are forty entries, each focusing on a passage key to God’s redemptive work in the lives of the broken hearted. The book begins with a “Call to Prayer:” a short statement on the devastation sexual exploitation leave on the life of a survivor. This is followed by evidence in the triumphant power of prayer in the lives of women Wellspring has worked with since 2001!
The highlighted passages bring into focus forty shades of the redemptive passion of Jesus, covering seminal issues such as: The Prince of Peace (Philippians 4:6-7), Our Perfect Intercessor (Hebrews 7:25) and Our Healer (Jeremiah 17:14).
In the ministry of reconciliation, prayer is the frontline of our efforts. In doing this, we follow in the footsteps of countless thousands who have gone before us:
“The Word of God is the fulcrum upon which the lever of prayer is placed, and by which things are mightily moved.” E.M. Bounds
“Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons, but they are helpless against our prayers.” J. Sidlow Baxter
I highly recommend this book for those who are passionate about Hepzibah House and the ministry of restoration that God has called us to! In fact, we are considering putting our own prayer series together! If you would like to submit an entry for this project, please feel free to do so. We would like to suggest it begin with scripture, and be limited to 250 words or less.
