Band “Simple Plan” Visits Vietnam to Raise Awareness of Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking has been in the news a lot lately, thanks to the highly publicised cries for help found in the form of notes written on (or in) products constructed by slave labor (such as the recent story of a Chinese labor camp worker hiding a note for help in a pack of Halloween decorations).

This story, and others like it, seems to have inspired the band Simple Plan to take action. In their new music video “This Song Saved My Life,” they depict an American man putting on a button down shirt, only to find a note asking for help sewn in the collar.

In May of 2012, the band travelled to Hanoi, Vietnam to meet with survivors of trafficking as well as at-risk youth. Hopefully, this popular group can bring the serious plight of human trafficking victims more into the forefront of the news – or at least, to the attention of their fans.
